By looking for and taking on small challenges daily, you train yourself to do things you’re scared of. Over time, you become immune to such things because your self-confidence has already grown to the point where you’ll feel confident about taking on any challenge that life may throw your way.
4. Think of and Write Down at Least Five Ideas Daily
Without ideas, you won’t be able to have anything to make yourself better and consequently, improve your life. It’s because ideas have the potential to generate solutions to your longest-standing problems or challenges.
But generating ideas is like running. The more you exercise your brain, which is your idea-generating muscle, the better you’ll get at it.
You can do this by making it a habit to generate and write down at least five new ideas daily. They don’t have to address the same concerns or have to be about the same topic.
Add it to your daily to-do list, but don’t overthink it. Just focus on training your mind to come up with ideas, and soon, it won’t be half as hard.
Over time, generating ideas will become second nature to you. And when you need ideas to help you solve a problem, later on, don’t be surprised to find how easy it is for you to do that.
5. Read at Least Four New “Best Self Improvement Books” on the Market Every Year
Reading books is one of the best ways to continuously improve one’s self and ultimately, change one’s life. Why?
For one, you can read self-improvement books whenever and wherever you want to. You can read them while commuting to work, lying in bed on a lazy Sunday morning, or while waiting to board an airplane.
Second, the information you get from books is something you can always go back to for reference. You can highlight them and write on them.
By doing so, you’re not under pressure to memorize with perfect recall all the important lessons or ideas the books presented.
